XX. PRAGUE GOTHIC TREFFEN PRESENTS THE COMPLETE LINE-UP

The start of the jubilee edition of the PGT is less than four months away, so it's high time to introduce this year's performers.

On the last weekend of August, 29th and 30th, 2025, Prague will once again host the traditional gathering of fans of the dark subculture, which we first organized 20 years ago under the name Prague Gothic Treffen. From a modest party for a handful of kindred black souls, the event has matured over the years into a two-day happening with top-tier performers and hundreds of goths from all over the world (last year, we registered visitors from 26 countries, including Australia, the USA, Brazil, and Mexico). This year, the venue will again be a combination of the two clubs Fuchs2 and Bike Jesus, located on the island of Štvanice, near the city center.

Since we take our anniversary celebration seriously, we have also decided to organize a PGT Cruise on the Friday before the event starts - a gothic cruise through Prague, during which you can admire unusual views of the historical beauty of our capital city, while at the same time vibing to the stylish set of our DJs below deck. The expedition is timed so that when you return to shore you can comfortably make your way to the clubs before the first bands start. ATTENTION: Tickets for the PGT Cruise are sold separately!

So far, we have announced the twelve performers you will get to see live at this year's PGT: German post-punkers Escape With Romeo, Swedish synthpop royalty Ashbury Heights, gritty Italian gothrockers Date At Midnight, Belgian EBM/dark electro outfit Mildreda, indie alternative act Decadent Fun Club, Berlin post-punk masters Bleib Modern, darkwave/goth comet DARK, Scottish multi-genre sensation Kill Shelter, Greek electro/darkwave duo Kalte Nacht, Polish witchpop beauty Agnis , Swiss synth hitmakers Blackbook and the unique hook suspension performance Hellshow. The line-up is now complete with the last four names to fill the remaining empty spots.

The only local act at this year's Prague Gothic Treffen will be Prague-based Cold Venus Revisited. Drawing from a range of genres, including dark psychedelia, shoegaze, and post-punk, the trio have released several digital singles during their few years of existence and played numerous shows alongside the likes of She Past Away, Whispering Sons, and The Underground Youth. The band will also be showcasing their latest work on our upcoming Dark Tunes 4 compilation.

Leah Lane and her goth/post-punk project, Rosegarden Funeral Party, will have a much longer journey to PGT. With a healthy dose of self-awareness and flair, the Texas songstress takes inspiration from the work of Morrissey or Sioxsie Sioux and pushes it in the direction of her own band's distinctive sound. The rapturous reception of their debut 'Martyr' has been followed by three equally successful album collections, and word of the pumping gigs is loud both in Europe and at home across the ocean. If you haven't had the chance to meet them face to face yet, make sure you try to do so in Prague in August.

The darkwave electronic project Minuit Machine was founded 12 years ago by Hélène de Thoury and Amandine Stiou, and during their years together they have achieved a cult status on the European scene thanks to their original sound and hypnotic concerts. The ladies were already on the PGT roster three years ago, but their performance was marred by Hélène's long-term illness, which eventually led to her departure from the ensemble. But you certainly don't have to worry about any nostalgic reminiscing about the past glory - Amandine presented a damn strong album collection "Queendom" a few weeks ago, which promises a first-class experience. Minuit Machine returns to Prague after ten long years.

And finally we come to the headliner of this year's PGT: We are very happy to witness the Czech premiere of one of the undisputed legends of the genre, the British Gene Loves Jezebel! The band was founded forty-five years ago by brothers Jay and Michael Aston. Their immortality was mainly due to the trio of albums "Promise", "Immigrant" and "Discover" from the 80s, during which the band's sound evolved from goth rock and post-punk to glam rock and new wave. After the departure of Michael Aston in 1988 and the closure of their record label in 1993, Gene Loves Jezebel went through two extended creative hiatuses during which they released several albums. The big comeback, however, came with their previous year's album "X - Love Death Sorrow", which garnered rave reviews and put the band back where they've belonged for years - in the very top echelon of the entire gothic movement. Be there!

Of course, we will soon share more details about the accompanying program, afterparties, and merchandise. But you have the main attractions all together now. So, just a question remains: Have you already got your ticket for the Prague Gothic Treffen (and also for the PGT Cruise)? In both cases, more than half of the capacity is already sold and the rate at which tickets are selling will only increase. So definitely don't wait too long...
