Underdogs' a Fluff Fest uvádí:
Tamaryn (DERO ARCADE) + Cold Showers (Dais Records)
TAMARYN IS BACK!!!
Po čtyřleté odmlce vydává původem novozélandská královna gothic dreampopu a shoegazu novou desku 'Dreaming The Dark'.
Spolu s ní přijedou Cold Showers, kalifornští zástupci dark wave/ indie rocku, kteří absolvovali turné třeba s The Soft Moon a Veronica Falls.

Underdogs' and Fluff Fest present:
Tamaryn (DERO ARCADE) + Cold Showers (Dais Records)
Tamarynn has been crafting gothic dreampop and soaring shoegaze records for the better part of a decade. With each subsequent release she has both expanded her sonic palette and playfully deconstructed it, the project itself an iconoclastic exploration involving a variety of collaborators and genre-melding that has spanned three previous albums, an EP and a handful of singles. While 2015’s lush Cranekiss marked a synth-inflected left turn for the artist, Dreaming the Dark pushes her sound even further. It’s simultaneously her hardest, darkest record and still somehow her most accessible, landing squarely in the sweet spot between pop and post-punk.
Produced by and co-written with Jorge Elbrecht (Ariel Pink, Frankie Rose, Wild Nothing, Gang Gang Dance), the nine tracks on Dreaming the Dark represent an emotional and aesthetic evolution, the front and center guitar washes and foggy ennui of her earlier records giving way to crystalline beats, synths and lyrical narratives aimed directly at the jugular. While the record still occasionally mines a 4AD-adjacent musical palette—all manner of Cocteau Twins gauze, her Kate Bush meets Tears for Fears level vocality and melodic guitar lines that might have swirled off of a mid-80’s Cure record—Dreaming also pack a hefty emotional wallop. The album flirts with the aesthetics of classic 80’s synthpop while playing at the fringes of hip hop production and forward-thinking electronica.

Cold Showers
A band formed in Highland Park, California in 2010, fuses the brash power of their shoegaze pedigree with the smokey compulsions of post-punk / no-wave ancestors. After the band released singles on Mexican Summer and Art Fag, Cold Showers signed with Dais Records. In the late summer of 2012, Dais had released the band band’s debut album, Love and Regret, to a storm of industry praise and critical acclaim. After a few successful tours with bands such as The Soft Moon & Veronica Falls, Cold Showers members decided to take some time off to start crafting new songs in a more pop-oriented direction. These songs started to take demonstrational form in a handful of singles and live cassette releases on Dais until the band decided to hunker down in the studio to formalize the songs found on their 2nd album, Matter of Choice, which came out in late 2015. Rather than imitating the sound on their first LP, Matter of Choice is decidedly a step away from their early material towards a more polished and distinct sound. Matter of Choice sees the band step up to the plate with more pop sensibility, without fully relinquishing themselves from their piston-precision rhythm section and gloomy post-punk hooks. While having deep roots in that nostalgic 80s sound, Cold Showers have evolved towards a sonic originality that is distinctively their own, and have paved the way for their contemporaries to do the same.
